Take a Coffee Break!

I had never been much of a coffee drinker until my trip to Hawaii last year. While I was there I discovered the delicious and rich flavors of Kona coffee, only available from the Hawaiian Islands. Since then, just the smell of fresh coffee beans or coffee brew makes my mouth water.

Coffee drinkers are a dedicated bunch. They set their automatic Cuisinart coffee maker to brew their morning coffee the same way they set their alarm to wake them up in the morning. Or they stop at their favorite coffee franchise, like Starbucks, every morning on their way to work.

I don't need too much caffeine in the morning, so I like to stick with my one cup coffee maker. Though I like my Keurig coffee maker, I thought it would be nice to try some other types of coffee. I decided to get some suggestions by looking at what kinds of coffee people are searching for on AOL Search.

For a special treat, I am excited to try some of the gourmet coffee that showed up on the top searched list. Number seven, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, has regional exclusivity like Kona coffee and a deliciously unique flavor. Gevalia Coffee carries a wide variety of gourmet flavors and roasts, including seasonal flavors. I was also interested in getting some green coffee beans and roasting my own coffee. What could be fresher?

If I need a cup of joe on the go, drive thru coffee, like Dunkin Donuts, is the fastest and I can get some breakfast. Green Mountain Coffee, number one on the list, is also great with food and is served at a lot of restaurants because they sell wholesale coffees.

Top 10 searches for coffees:
1. Green Mountain Coffee
2. Starbucks Coffee
3. Caribou Coffee
4. Gevalia Coffee
5. Peet's Coffee
6. Dunkin Donuts Coffee
7. Blue Mountain Coffee
8. Maxwell House Coffee
9. Folgers Coffee
10. Senseo Coffee

I love coffee. I use to work for a coffee chain. Green mountain is very good. And I also like local roaster. You should try some of the local brand in your town or city. They are very fresh and good.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM 2 1 Kitty...
We have a terrific coffee at home - a special roast (by hand) and my mom took a long time to find it...
BUT - admit if in "the fields" i go to Starbucks - definitely... Because ALL coffee shops you have there - we do not have yet here in Switzerland...
So STARBUCKS is my fave...

Jamaican coffee is by far my favorite! But since I am also always in a rush in the morning, I either stop at Dunkin Donuts or Wawa for coffee.

i always go local roast. the trick is to getting them to tell you the bean origin so you can make a intelligent decision, not just the name they give it. kona is great if its straight and not a blend.

this is a great post. helps to know what others drink as a way of broadening my tastes. I have had a Starbucks eggnog latte almost everyday (needless to say I will be going on a bit of a diet now) but most Starbucks aren't serving the eggnog now that the holidays are almost history. Anyway, thanks for all the tips!

I typically buy Dunkin' Donut, Peet's (if I can find it) and Ghiradelli Chocolate Raspberry (yummmm) by the bags. I had a Starbucks machine put in here at work so I can always get a cup of regular brew during the day (it freshly grinds/brews one cup at a time). (I know, I am trying not to wrench my arm patting myself on the back! Walk like an Egyptian) Seattle's Best is owned by Starbucks and is a decent cup of joe, also.

I've never done the coffee thing, I just can't stand the taste... I drink loads of green tea instead, which also helps prevent coffee-breath Sticking out tongue

I used to drink my coffee black...high school age on up through child-rearing years. Then I didn't drink it for many years. Now I'm making my own latte style drinks. I've sampled most of what Starbucks makes at the Kroger stores I work in that have a Starbucks' stand. I have one I call Vanilla Spice Latte. It features Cinnamon, Honey, Vanilla and Heavy Cream in my hot coffee... mmmm.....

I buy green off the internet and roast at home. It isn't hard to do! It you can't do this, I really recommend finding a local roaster. Freshness is key! Buying high quality beans won't help if they are old and stale.

I have to admit, I'm not much of a coffee gal, caffeine and I don't go well together. I LOVE tea though.

Starbuck's Italian Roast Whole Bean is the choice for my morning coffee-grinding your own beans makes it so much more flavorable!! I also like the Green Mountain-Nantucket Blend,I do add creamer.

I drink different types of coffee. I love Starbucks but I can't always get there so I brew at home most of the time with Folgers. I used to do Maxwell but they always got stale so fast.

A day without coffee...is impossible for me. I have usually a cup a day (or 2) in the morning. At home, I drink Seattle Works coffee or Starbucks. Outside it is usually Starbucks, I recently discovered Peet's coffee in my city and that is my new favorite, it beats any other coffee I have. I am going to buy their coffee beans from now on. I have never had jamaican coffee, will have to try it.

I'm okay with Folgers and Maxwell, but compared to the good coffee it taste like crap, but still hahah I can drink it if there is nothing else.

I had too much coffee once and I started to hallucinate, I saw ninjas. Maybe I'll venture into this mysterious world of coffee flavors again when I'm no longer afraid of the cup.
